Add or edit exclusions in Nebula

You can exclude applications, files, registry keys, and IP addresses in Malwarebytes Nebula. Exclusions help prevent your Malwarebytes software from detecting and quarantining trusted items on the endpoints in your network. 

By default, exclusions are applied globally to all endpoints in your network, but you can instead select specific policies to apply exclusions. Configure your exclusions according to the needs of your network.

Add an exclusion

  1. On the left navigation menu, go to Configure > Exclusions.
  2. Click New.
  3. On the Create Exclusion window, complete the following fields:
    • Enable/disable: Switch the toggle to enable your listed exclusions. This toggle is disabled by default.
    • Input line: Enter each exclusion on a separate line.
    • Applies to: Select whether to apply the exclusion to all endpoints or specific policies.

  4. Click Validate. 
  5. In the Validate Exclusion window, verify the information regarding your listed exclusions. See table below for more details on validations.
  6. Click Save. In the top-right, a confirmation message displays The exclusions were successfully created.

To edit an exclusion after it's been created, click on the exclusion and make the required changes.

Exclusion validations Description
Status Shows if the exclusion is enabled or disabled. Toggle on or off as desired.
Exclusion Shows the exclusion value entered.
Type Shows the exclusion type given to this exclusion. Click and select a different value from the drop-down if necessary. 
Applies to Select whether the exclusion will apply to Global (all endpoints), or a specific policy.
Apply to specific Shows the specific policies to which the exclusion applies.
Categories Shows icons indicating the Malwarebytes protection layer(s) affected by the exclusion. Click to change which protection layers are affected by the exclusion.
Comment Optional. Provide a comment to give the exclusion a unique description.
Actions

Click the mceclip0.png icon to remove the exclusion.
