Vulnerability Assessment provides you with critical vulnerability information on installed software across your site's endpoints. Enable Vulnerability Assessment in the policy settings to activate this module for your sites. Once configured in your policy settings, initiate a Inventory & Vulnerability scan across endpoints to retrieve the latest threat exposure information.
Enable Vulnerability Assessment policy
- Log in to Malwarebytes OneView.
- On the left navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click Policies. Create a new policy or select an existing policy.
- Click the Software management tab.
- Check mark Allow scanning for known vulnerabilities in installed software for Windows or Mac endpoints.
- Click Save.
Scan for vulnerabilities
To update the Vulnerabilities page, you have two options for scanning. Run an on-demand Inventory & Vulnerability scan or create a scheduled Software Inventory & Vulnerability scan.
If you have Software Inventory scans scheduled, they automatically change to Inventory & Vulnerability scans after you assign Vulnerability Assessment to a site. Your scheduled scan settings are retained and no further action is needed.
NOTICE - Running Inventory & Vulnerability scans on endpoints is expected to use up to 350MB of memory and 25-50% of the CPU. We recommend running this scan on endpoints during off hours for users. For our minimum hardware requirements, see System requirements for Malwarebytes OneView.
On-demand scan
To run an on-demand scan for vulnerabilities, select the Scan Inventory & Vulnerability option from the action menu on the Endpoints page in OneView. For more information, see Endpoint actions in Malwarebytes OneView.
Scheduled scan
To create a scheduled scan for vulnerabilities, select the Software Inventory & Vulnerability Scan option for your schedule type in the Schedules page in OneView. For more information, see Set scheduled scans in Malwarebytes OneView.
